![]() ![]() Note: Teammate James Robinson (Achilles) looks ready to play this week. Note: ***There's some buzz about the Broncos employing a 'hot-hand' approach at RB between Williams and Gordon, which might be defined as limiting Williams' work as the starter.*** Note: I really want to see if Henry has the pre-injury burst now that he's had an entire offseason to rest. ***Full practice Friday, not on the final injury report.*** Note: McCaffrey was a full practice participant Thursday after getting cut on the shin by a teammate's cleat. It's no longer possible that Wilson will start, and in fact will be out at least until Week 4. Note: Jets head coach Robert Sales said it's 'possible' that Wilson (knee) could still start in Week 1 - we'll know more after Wednesday's injury/practice report. Note: Mitch Trubisky will start ahead of Pickett to begin the season, but Pickett has officially moved past Mason Rudolph for the backup job. Note: Smith won the starting job over Drew Lock in camp, as Lock first was out with COVID and then was his usual erratic self in the preseason. Wilson is officially out, so Flacco will start. Note: It's not yet a given that Flacco will start in Week 1 - it's still possible that Zach Wilson (knee) will be ready to go. Note: Mayfield beat out Sam Darnold for the Panthers' starting job, though from a distance it didn't appear to be much of a job battle. Note: Trubisky was officially named the starter ahead of Kenny Pickett for Week 1. ***Returned to a full practice Friday and cleared from the injury report.*** Note: Prescott was limited in practice Thursday due to a sore right ankle, caused by a reaction to new shoes. Note: Lance will have Jimmy Garoppolo back on the team as his backup this year, thus giving him a shorter leash in the event of struggles. Stafford clarified that he both had an anti-inflammatory injection and a surgical procedure this offseason for his elbow, but reaffirmed that he has no limitations heading into the season. Note: Stafford has been dealing with right elbow discomfort, but he will have no limitations on Thursday night against the Bills. Note: ***This is likely Brady's final season, according to Ian Rapoport.*** Note: Wilson got a five-year contract contract extension last week. Note: Burrow (appendix) is officially cleared from the injury report. Note: ***Jackson and the Ravens were not able to come to terms on a long-term extension by Jackson's self-imposed Friday deadline.*** ![]() I welcome debate on the rankings in the comments. When setting your lineups, make sure to refer to the NFL inactives to ensure all of your players are set to receive snaps. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning. Starting after Week 1, the rankings for the subsequent week will first post on Tuesday nights, roughly around 10:00 pm ET. If you want a second opinion elsewhere on the site, you can see our Weekly Projections. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Should I start Patrick Mahomes or Eli Manning?" These are the rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards. The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues. The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues. Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings: While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week. ![]() It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings.
